Since 1983, Riverfront has been thriving as an irreplaceable asset for children and families in our community! Forty years ago, parents from Electric Boat formed Riverfront Children’s Center in response to an unfulfilled need for affordable, accessible childcare. As more families required care and early education, the center expanded to meet the demand.

Since those early days, Riverfront has become a nonprofit organization that nurtures the unique needs of children and families from all over New London County, contributing to the success and vibrancy of our region. Our classrooms host 120 children from diverse backgrounds and, thanks to our in-house tuition subsidy, Scholar Dollars, we do not turn away eligible children due to their inability to meet the cost of tuition. All children are welcome, and families are encouraged to take advantage of our wrap-around services which include an on-site food pantry, hygiene and diapering items, and referrals to social services where appropriate.

We have accomplished so much, preparing thousands of children for lifelong success through early numeracy, literacy, and social-emotional skill building. We feel it is appropriate to toot our horn, turn up the music, and throw an unforgettable anniversary party that will honor the families we serve, our most dedicated staff, and all the supporters who make our mission a priority in their lives. On September 16th we are holding an anniversary fundraiser at the Great Neck Country Club in Waterford and need your help to make it a night to remember. In addition to an evening of specialty cocktails, many tasty bites, lively music, and an outdoor patio with a cozy fireplace, we are planning an exclusive silent auction showcasing the best that our region has to offer.

Riverfront is seeking your donation celebrating the finer things in life, including but limited to overnight stays at resorts, upscale hotels, or bespoke vacation lodging; tickets to live performances or sporting events; extraordinary experiences such as tours and trips; culinary indulgences; fine jewelry or home décor; services for health and well-being; or anything that will inspire our attendees to bid high and bid often! Your coveted item will be one of a few magnificent pieces open to bidding from our donors and supporters. All proceeds from this event will support the babies, children, and families who attend Riverfront.
