Description

As a nonprofit organization, fundraising is vital to Chicago Ballet Arts' ability to continue our mission. CBA has been dedicated to providing equitable access and opportunity to high-quality ballet training to all with the desire to learn for over 37 years. We strive to instill in our students a love of dance, a respect for the classical disciplines necessary in a performing art, and an expanded capacity for excellence.

A key component to the CBA experience is having live piano accompaniment for ballet classes in our Pre-Professional Division. Talented pianists have been an integral part of the CBA family since the very early days of the school. Our accompanists share their knowledge and passion for music with our students, filling the studios with real-time, custom pieces that are carefully selected to match each and every combination our teachers give. This enables our students to develop a more sensitive, receptive, musical ear that makes them better artists and more well-rounded dancers. They see the connection between dance and music firsthand, gaining a broader appreciation of the arts and a deeper understanding of collaboration. As one of only a few schools on the North Shore with pianists for its ballet classes, we feel a great responsibility to keep the music alive at CBA for many years to come. In addition, we stive to provide as many need-based scholarships as possible, so that cost is not a barrier to the arts.

But, as our programs grow, so does our need. Our Spring Fling will raise funds for our programming and commitment to live music. The event will include performances by our students, live music, an online auction, dance party and more!

Thank you for your belief in our mission and the work we do.
