To Whom It May Concern,

Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) has made a national effort to end the stigma associated with hearing loss and raise funds for hearing loss programs by taking part in the Chicago Walk4Hearing. The 5K walk will take place on Sunday, September 30th at Lincoln Park in Chicago.

The Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to providing hearing impaired Americans, and their families, the education, support and assistance they need.  Founded in 1979 by Howard E. “Rocky” Stone, a retired CIA officer, the HLAA mission is a simple one: to reduce the impact of hearing loss on a person’s daily life.

We are expecting about 750 walkers, including children and we are writing to you today to ask if you would consider supporting our efforts by donating items such as certificates or any goods  that we would like to provide for our walkers on September 30th in form of raffle prizes. Sponsorship packages are available via email.

Your in-kind donation is tax-deductible and our 501(c)(3) number is 52-1177011.

The chances are good that someone you know has – or will experience in the near future – significant hearing loss.  These individuals have little support and face a multitude of severe obstacles as they struggle to fit into a hearing world. Help us make this Walk successful so we can raise funds to provide them with support and programs!

Thank you in advance for your generous donation.  If you have any further questions, please feel Deirdre Keane at dkeane716@gmail.com.

Sincerely,

Deirdre Keane
