Description

Chinese Hospital is honored to host our 28th Charity Golf Tournament & Awards Dinner on Monday, October 23rd, 2023, at the highly-renowned Olympic Club in San Francisco.

Letter from our Golf Committee Co-chairs:

Thank you for being a supporter of Chinese Hospital and our community. We would like to invite you to join us for a day of golf, followed by an elegant dinner, where we can connect, network, and, most importantly, celebrate the remarkable achievements of Chinese Hospital over the past year. Your participation will also contribute significantly to our ambitious goals for the future.

This year, we proudly commemorate Chinese Hospital's 124th year of dedicated service to the community in Chinatown and San Francisco Bay Area. As the only remaining independent community hospital in San Francisco and a unique institution in the country, Chinese Hospital holds a cherished place in our hearts. It stands as a symbol of medical excellence and a beacon of racial inclusion and cultural competency.

Throughout history, Chinese Hospital has been a steadfast guardian of our community's well-being. Rooted in necessity, Chinese Hospital was founded as the Tung Wah Dispensary in 1899 to provide care for San Francisco's Chinese community, facing systematic exclusion, racism, and violence from other healthcare facilities.

Today, the spirit of protection continues to guide Chinese Hospital's mission. Drawing a parallel between our response to COVID-19 and the bubonic plague over a century ago, we remain resolute in combating public fear, misinformation, and discrimination. Our commitment to widespread, community-focused healthcare, available to all San Franciscans regardless of race, has been pivotal in safeguarding Chinatown and, by extension, the entire city. Our reputation for culturally competent and exceptional healthcare attracts patients from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds.

As we look ahead, we are excited to forge new partnerships with SFDPH and UCSF to introduce essential services and programs. These include much-needed skilled nursing facility/subacute services, mental/behavioral health initiatives, and other specialty services. However, we cannot achieve these goals without your support. Your sponsorship will play a crucial role in transforming our vision into reality.

We hope you will join us at the Olympic Club on October 23rd, either for a round of golf or cocktails & dinner reception if you prefer not to play. Unfortunately due to course renovations, the Championship Lake Course is closed this year. We will have limited spots on the beautiful Ocean Course and the Cliff 9-Hole Course. We can’t wait to tee off with you!

If you are unable to attend in person, we hope you will join us philanthropically – the future of Chinese Hospital depends on all of us.

Thank you for your unwavering support,
