Chisholm Trail Convention (CTC) is a non‐profit public charity organization with the primary purpose being to provide service work and fellowship opportunities to individuals recovering from alcoholism within the greater Austin area by means of the annual Chisholm Trail Convention event, making every effort to encourage all afflicted by alcoholism to participate. Attendees share experience, strength and hope in an effort to deepen their spirituality and demonstrate a worthwhile manner of living based on a 12‐step program.
The primary beneficiaries of the CTC are families which have been impacted by alcoholism who want to find a better way of life. CTC provides opportunities for networking, friendship and community service. We offer scholarships to interested parties who cannot afford the registration fee on an “as needed” basis, however we encourage those who can pay their own way to do so which fosters responsible behavior.
We provide entertainment and meals all weekend. Our fees are minimized to only what is needed to fund the event and encourage participation. We have inspirational speakers who are willing to give their time and share their stories of experience, strength and hope from all over the United States. We offer workshops aimed at providing solutions to coping with problems associated with daily living.
All of those who participate in the planning and execution of the event, inclusive of the CTC Board Members, are volunteers.
