Safe and Sober Grad Night was started in 1988 and has always been solely ran by volunteers. The purpose of this event is to reward the graduating class of seniors by giving them an opportunity to enjoy a memorable celebration around their friends within a supervised, safe and secure surrounding. Livermore High School hosts this drug and alcohol free event. This event offers a desirable alternative to non-school-sponsored graduation celebrations where under-aged drinking and substance abuse often occur. This experience helps avoid past tragedies where lives have been lost in senseless traffic accidents on graduation night. If one arrest, injury or death is prevented by this alcohol and drug free celebration, then the extensive effort necessary to plan and fund it will have been well worth it—both for our Livermore graduates and the community at large. The funding for this event has depended upon financial support from our community, ticket sales, parents, fundraising and grants.  Together with the help of our supporters we have been able to continously make this event happen each year.
