Medical Mission:

Healing the Children is a non-profit organization focused on providing medical assistance to children who cannot obtain it. This organization was founded in 1979 and has helped over 225,000 children in more than 95 countries. Our medical mission to Neiva, Colombia has been serving the medical needs of impoverished children since 1993. Over the years, our program has grown from 20 team members to over 100, with some clinical staff coming from Spain, England, Guatemala, Brazil, and other countries depending on the year. The program started as an oral cleft surgical mission but now includes operative and non-operative care for children. It has provided free surgical care, speech therapy, plastic surgery, club foot and hip dysplasia correction for more than 4,000 children. Our Neiva mission is a labor of love that brings together our team and all levels of Colombian society; local volunteers, scouts, local and state government, two branches of the military, and the national police. This team approach is a strength of the program and is a reason for its long success. Thank you for supporting our medical mission.
