Description

We are working on our next Spring Book Distribution Event. We host curated book giveaway events to support marginalized communities that often lack access to vital educational resources, such as high-quality, high-interest books. We know that having access to books has a huge impact on educational outcomes, so we do our best to level the playing field and support literacy.

We will use the funds raised to work with our partner schools to design an event specifically for their exceptional students. Events generally consist of a "book fair" type of atmoshpere where children get to select a number of books of their choosing, receive other high interest educational materials, book marks, stickers, perhaps a tote bag; whatever the school staff deems most relevent. If the school is particularly underserved, we try to incorporate snacks or a food component, as well. Students facing food insecurity also experience additional educational challenges that we aim to reduce. If we can address both issue in one event, that is amazing!

We hope to raise enough funds to host two of these events in neighborhoods that have kids that are furthest from educational justice. Events will be in March and/or April. We plan to have additional events closer to Summer break, as well.

Thank you for your consideration. Your donation will have an immediate and lasting impact on these kids.
