On Thursday, July 27th Rygiel will be hosting our Annual Community Fundraising Dinner! This is one of our most popular events and we are so grateful for the impact that the community continues to have on our agency. As you may know, Rygiel’s mission is to support people in Hamilton who have a developmental disability and multiple handicaps. Our services are determined by a person’s individual needs and are designed to ensure that each person lives a full and meaningful life. In Hamilton, over 500 people are on waiting lists for these services, and many individuals and families have been waiting for years. Proceeds from this year’s fundraising initiatives will go towards an exciting new accessible housing project that will help meet the needs of seniors with developmental and other disabilities – three new barrier-free homes will be built adjacent to the Rygiel administration building on Cranbrook Drive and will provide overnight respite services to individuals and their families who face financial and other barriers to accessing services.
