A simple idea back in the early 1970’s, Concern pioneered the “block party” fundraiser concept which has become a reality where thousands gather each year for an evening filled with good food, friends, and entertainment. It takes a tremendous team comprised of three generations of volunteers all working together to produce Concern’s signature Block Party.

We are excited to announce that we will be back at Paramount's backlot on the evening of Saturday, July 8, 2023 to raise money for cancer research and have a great time! 

Cancer is still the enemy and the challenges of continuing to raise funds to support cancer research are more pressing than ever.

Concern Foundation for Cancer Research is currently supporting over 35 cancer researchers who are investigating new approaches in all types of cancer.  This independent volunteer driven non-profit organization has raised and granted over $72 million to cancer research projects across our community, country and worldwide since inception in 1968.  

This event features over 60 of our city’s best restaurants and caterers, great live entertainment, interactive activities, and a silent and live auction.  Our 2022 event attracted close to 4,000 guests.  As a result of ticket sales, sponsorships, general donations, and in-kind donations from national and local businesses, we were able to raise over $2 million to support cancer research scientists around the world. Our media partner for the event is Los Angeles Magazine.

Thanks to our generous supporters, Concern continues to keep its overhead at around 5% allowing us to give almost $.95 of every dollar raised directly to cancer researchers around the world.  You will not only be helping a worthy cause, but it promises to be a fun-filled evening.
