The Showtime, Mariners, and Combo groups from Mayfair High School in Lakewood, California are sending over 75 students on a West Coast Concert Tour..  Your support will help us offset some of the costs associated with this wonderful opportunity.  

This advanced group learns vocal technique, musicianship skills, show choir repertoire, acapella literature, and a variety of other choral literature.  Show choir students learn staging and choreography for all different genres of music.  They attend competitive and non-competitive festivals and perform 15-25 times each year including national conventions, meetings, community organizations and clubs, and school functions.  These students are required to attend all scheduled performances and rehearsals and maintain a good academic standing.  Participation in the group teaches discipline, commitment, and a strong work ethic.

Although each of the students are fundraising to offset the cost of their trip, the amount needed for shipping musical instruments, uniforms, speakers, and stage equipment is greater than the school budget can bear.  Necessary for the students’ performances is over 3,500 lbs. of equipment that must be shipped  prior to arriving and returned after the trip.  A donation by your Organization  would help cover the shipping costs and other tour expenses.  

This is a memory of a lifetime for these hardworking students. Showtime, Mariners, and Combo have taken top honors at show choir festivals consistently over the past 35 years in California and around the country. One of the highlights for the group each year is our concert tour.
