Dear Donations Coordinator,
CORSE (Community of Resources for Special Education) is a 501(c)(3) charity, established by a group of dedicated parents and educators to raise funds to provide the highest quality social, academic, recreation, therapeutic and work skills development programming so children with special needs across the South Shore can reach their full potential. Not only is this community foundation able to develop customized programs to meet children’s specific needs, it also offers programs that are more affordable to families than private services that are overenrolled and very costly. Most importantly, children with special needs are provided the opportunity to successfully participate in programs within their own community, integrated alongside their classmates and neighbors. Over 16 years CORSE has committed over $1,388,000, running 662 programs with 9,805 student registrations. Each year we run more than 50 programs with >850 student registrations. Our foundation’s administrative overhead is EXTREMELY low, 4.9% so funds go directly to the children.
Awards include:
· 2020 March WBZ Cares Featured Charity
· 2016 South Shore Conservatory Community Partnership Award
· 2016 Scituate Recreation Community Spirit Award
· 2016 FOX25 Hometown Team Award
· 2015 Myra Kraft Community MVP Award second prize winner from the New England Patriots Foundation
· 2014 primary speaker at the first Flutie Foundation Partner Summit
· 2011 Massachusetts Recreation and Park Association Program Outreach Award
· 2009 “Citizen of the Year” in Scituate
· 2008 Massachusetts Community Partnership Award from the Federation for Children with Special Needs
On Saturday, April 9, we will be holding one of our major fundraisers, the CORSE Gala. In the past you generously provided an auction item, and this greatly contributed to the success of the event. We are hoping you would consider making a similar tax-deductible donation again this year.
We know these are extraordinarily challenging times, both socially and economically for everyone. We know your business or family might have been impacted financially, so we don’t expect you to give this year but wanted to know how much we appreciate and value your previous sponsorship. If you are not in a position to give this year, we completely understand. We will keep you in our thoughts and continue to encourage families to support your business or organization during this challenge.
If you are in a position to give this year, your support would allow us to continue our programming with the staffing and other special accommodations necessary, especially during this COVID-19 epidemic. Our children need socialization and support more than ever. In recognition of your contribution, you will be listed with appreciation in our event brochure, website as well as other community publicity materials. Your donation would be appreciated and considered your annual contribution. We will forward you a tax deduction receipt for your records. This tournament is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community to support some of our most vulnerable children, with all proceeds benefiting programming customized for children with special needs. Again, we would like to thank you for your prior donation, and thank you in advance for your ongoing support.
Sincerely,
Lindsey Dietz
