Van Zandt County Farm Bureau works to support agriculture in our county by conducting educational meetings and being that Voice of Agriculture.  A very important part of our community is our youth that are involved in agriculture with various projects and programs.  We work to support them through the market animal sale at the county fair, various contests and projects throughout the year.  A most recent project was “Ag Day” where we educated over 500 Van Zandt County 4th graders on 10 different areas of agriculture over a two-day period at the fairgrounds. 

The youth in Van Zandt County are exceptional. We are proud to be able to invest in the future of Texas and to provide scholarships this year to 4 of these deserving individuals. Recipients were selected based on their academic, scholastic and agricultural involvement. A total of $8,000 in scholarships was awarded to our 2023 local graduating seniors who are majoring in Agriculture or Life Sciences or a vocational trade. 

Van Zandt County Farm Bureau is committed to building the future through our youth.  We believe that hard work, determination and good sportsmanship follow Jr Livestock show exhibitors throughout their lives.  2023 gave us the opportunity to support our youth at the Van Zandt County Livestock Show by contributing addons for 45 students with a total of $13,350. Van Zandt County Farm Bureau also sponsored  Public Speaking Contest and The Grand Champion and Reserved Grand Champion for Ag Mechanics.
