Throughout the year CR Pride creates opportunities for those in our community to learn, grow, and celebrate who they are in safe spaces across the city. As part of our mission, CR Pride hosts family-friendly monthly community events by partnering with and supporting local business to give the LGBTQ+ community a safe and fun environment to grow and participate in the community. In the organizations efforts to raise awareness and understanding within and outside the LBGTQ+ community, CR Pride partners with local education institutions, businesses, and healthcare professionals to host and participate in educational panels. During panel discussions we bring experts on topics to answer questions and participate in dialogue surrounding the LGBTQ+ community in Cedar Rapids regarding current social and legislative events.  

Every summer, CR Pride puts on an annual celebration called PrideFest, an event that has steadily grown over the last 5 years. In 2024, CR PrideFest was attended by more than 25,000 members of the Cedar Rapids community. PrideFest is an event to celebrate and recognize our LGBTQ+ community members, families, and allies. While similar events throughout the country charge admission to offset costs associated with putting on the event, CR Pride is dedicated to removing financial barriers by ensuring the event is always free to attend. This is one of the reasons our community partnerships and sponsors are essential to our existence. Without partners in the community, CR Pride year around events and our annual celebration would not be feasible.
