Description

Jennifer’s Harbor, a nonprofit organization serving victims of domestic and sexual violence throughout northeast Indiana, will be hosting a community event on May 18th: Crowns & Heroes

This magical day will include a live princess performance, superhero sightings, engaging activities, a silent auction, delicious delights and an invigorating dance party! Our local heroes - police, firefighters, EMT's, healthcare workers - will be on-site, showcasing their vehicles in the parking lot.

Crowns & Heroes will allow you to step into a world of royal splendor and superhero adventures, all while supporting a groundbreaking initiative! This is not just another event; it's a crucial step towards establishing Abie's Haven: Fort Wayne's first short-term crisis home exclusively for women and children escaping domestic and sexual violence

We met Abie four years ago. Abie was a missing teenager, and her family asked Jennifer’s Harbor to help find her. Thankfully, we succeeded, and Abie became the first girl we rescued from being trafficked.

Abie continued to live in fear for weeks after being rescued, too afraid to go home because her abusers continued to look for her. Because there was nowhere suitable for her to go, she jumped from place to place in order to feel protected and remain hidden. Abie eventually traveled abroad for long-term care, where she could heal and finally feel safe.

Since then, we’ve encountered many women who are in situations similar to Abie’s. That is why we are eager to build a home in Fort Wayne where women like Abie can feel safe. But we need your help.

To raise funds for our home, we are committing each dollar raised from Crowns & Heroes to Abie's Haven. Our goal is to raise $700,000, and we were hoping you could help us. Your involvement, be it through financial contributions, auction item donations, or other in-kind donations can make a lasting difference.
