Dear Friends of Chinese Immersion School at De Avila,

Chinese Immersion School at De Avila (CIS), is a San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD), Dual-Language Public Elementary School nestled in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood.  Our mission is to prepare students with multilingual skills so that they can become caring and globally responsible citizens. Students in grades K-5 have the unique opportunity to learn both Cantonese and English languages. Our educational experience is highly regarded and attracts families from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, representing neighborhoods throughout San Francisco.

The SFUSD budgets continue to encounter challenges, resulting in financial impacts on schools district-wide. In order to support and sustain our programs, our school organizes an Annual Fundraising Gala drawing attendance from parents, friends, and members of the CIS community. This event aims to raise funds to ensure the continuity of our valuable initiatives, encompassing art and gardening programs, technologies, field trips, professional development for teachers and staff, as well as the purchase of necessary equipment and supplies.

We are delighted to announce our Annual Fundraising Gala, 'Crystal Phoenix Ball' that will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024. This special event also marks our school's 15th anniversary since its establishment in 2009. The evening will feature a silent auction, live auction, cocktails, and dinner.
