Description

Dear Valued Community Member:

I am the parent of a first grader and third grader at Citizens of the World - East Valley Charter School, located in Valley Village. I'm writing to ask for your consideration in making an in-kind donation.  CWCEV is a socio-economically, culturally, and racially diverse, tuition free public elementary school that counts on the generosity of businesses and community members to raise a portion of our much-needed fundraising dollars. We rely heavily on these dollars to cover a per-student gap in what we receive in public funding and what it costs to provide the program of small class sizes, teachers’ assistants, art, music, social emotional learning, and affordable after school care.  Our program is particularly strong in developing students’ social emotional development across lines of difference, preparing our students to emerge as a new generation of leaders – as trailblazers who are ready to tackle the future challenges in our world.  At CWCEV we have a passionate group of Teachers, Administrators and community that are committed to the work of developing and growing our school.  We were the only school in LAUSD to open during the pandemic and each year grow our school by adding another grade level (we currently offer TK-3rd and will grow to Tk-4th next year).  To continue to grow our school and programs each year we reach out to our communities and ask for support.  That support helps us to fund everything that makes CWCEV so special and unique.  My favorite example of this is "Math club".  Math club is an innovative free after school math intervention program.  It is designed for students who either test low in math or are identified as struggling in math by their teachers.  It is an afterschool program that provides small group instruction using math manipulatives and games to engage students in math activities helping to foster creative thinking and math confidence.  Our students at CWCEV love math club and we have been seeing the math scores of students who participate in Math club rise across all grade levels!  Sponsorship/donations would provide you with the benefit of accessing this robust community with your business’ name and logo featured prominently at the event, on our event website, and a post on all of our social media outlets and in our CWCEV family newsletters.   We will have an online auction that begins on May 25th and concludes during our spring auction carnival on June 2nd.  We plan for 600+ people to participate in the auction and approx 300-400 people to participate in the auction event.
