Dancing Under the Stars
Gala/Party for St. Joseph's Hospice Resource Centre of Sarnia LambtonNov 02, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM

We are very excited to begin the planning for our Dancing Under the Stars Gala. This year's Gala is set to take place on Saturday November 2nd, 2024 in the atrium at DeGroot’s Nurseries.
The Dancing Under the Stars Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year which enables St. Joseph’s Hospice to offer programs and services free of charge to our community. The 2023 Gala was very successful. It began by selling out the same day tickets went on sale and continued to have a waiting list right up to the day of the event. The success continued through the gala and with support we were able to raise more than $175,000 in net proceeds. It takes a lot to put an event on of this size and caliber, but through sponsorship, silent and live auction donations, attendees and all the volunteers who give so much of their time it was a grand success. Our team of 130 volunteers worked tirelessly to transform a greenhouse into a breathtakingly beautiful ballroom. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and sheer determination brought our vision to life and created an unforgettable experience for the 800 guests who attended.
It is at this time, we are seeking your support for the 2024 Dancing Under the Stars Gala. By contributing to the Gala, you will allow for continued growth of client programs and hospice services, as well as help ensure this year’s Gala is once again a wonderful evening to remember.
St. Joseph’s Hospice opened its doors in 2005 as a Resource Centre, offering bereavement programs for adults and children. Today, 19 years later we have grown tremendously and now offer grief and bereavement programs for adults and children who are grieving the loss of a loved one or are ill themselves. In addition, St. Joseph’s Hospice provides a 10-bed hospice residence for individuals who are facing the end of their life. Since the residence opened in 2009 we have cared for more than 2,310 residents.
Signature events are an essential component of St. Joseph’s Hospice annual fundraising plan. They allow us to raise money as well as tell the Hospice story. This year St. Joseph's Hospice is required to fundraise $2 million dollars. St. Joseph’s Hospice is not fully funded and only receives government funding for a portion of the direct nursing and PSW costs in our Hospice Residence. The remaining costs are borne by the organization.
We would like to thank you in advance for considering our request and look forward to hearing from you.
