In 2016 Dane’s Golf Outing started as a single event to give back to the hospital that has given his family and families like his so much. The interest was so high that in 2017 Dane’s Golf Outing became The Dane Farlee Foundation, a 501©3 Non-Profit Organization. In 2018, we signed on to have a direct Dane Farlee Fund at Riley Hospital for Children to single handedly fund the AED (Automated External Defibrillators) program to get devices into the homes of kids in need and the (CNOC) Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative.  The AED program provides in-home automated external defibrillators to high-risk kids when insurance unreasonably denies the need for them. The survival rate of a patient defibrillated within the first 3 minutes of a cardiac arrest is substantially increased. With every minute that passes after a cardiac event the chance of survival decreases by 7-10%. It takes the average ambulance nearly 8 minutes to arrive on the scene. In situations where seconds count the in-home AED is absolutely paramount. Recently the world watched the success of the AED when the NFL used it on Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin who went into cardiac arrest on the field. Having the AED on hand, undeniably helped save his life! 

We have had over 80 golfers each year of this event.  With the help of individuals and businesses we have raised over $80,000 for the kids.  We will have fliers with “Support our supporters” listing contact information for each of our supporters.  Supporters will also be mentioned on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
