Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd (SBWIS) is a non-profit 501c3 in the state of Wisconsin (39-1594831). Our mission is to enhance the lives of Wisconsin’s residents affected by Spina Bifida by providing resources, peer support and social events in the community. Spina Bifida is the most common permanently disabling birth defect in the United States and causes abnormal functions in three primary areas: the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), the urological system (kidneys and bladder), and the musculoskeletal system (bones and muscles). As a result, several body systems cannot function properly, making it a lifelong condition. People with Spina Bifida require on-going medical care including therapy, medication and surgeries. Although Spina Bifida is not curable, most people born with this disability will live full productive lives.

On June 6th, 2024 SBWIS is hosting Danny’s Golf Outing and Silent Auction at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex, WI. Danny is one of our members with Spina Bifida. Danny is 29 years old and his family hosts this golf outing to provide funding for SBWIS programs. Danny enjoys working in the community, is passionate about sports, and is a faithful volunteer at several organizations and non-profits.

This annual fund-raising event directly benefits our members and 100% of the funds stay in WI. Funds from this event solely provides members with Spina Bifida financial assistance to attend summer camp! Requests for financial assistance are at an all-time high. Our records show 523 individuals in WI living with Spina Bifida to date. Please help make our 2024 event a huge success so we can meet our members’ needs!
