DDCON is the United States' first and only convention dedicated to South Asian performing arts. Participants fly from across the United States and Canada to partake in a 4 day long event.

DDCON will give dancers the opportunity to step out of their comfort zones and experience different genres of dance in an environment that fosters their curiosity and passion for the performing arts.

Created and maintained by a team of individuals from different dance backgrounds and managerial strengths, Desi Dance Network consists of a group of board members and officers whose main goal is to unite all Desi dance events under this umbrella organization. DDCON will feature networking mixers, dance workshops, professional development seminars, and a variety of artistic development panels. The DDCON Board will carefully choose a faculty of dancers, choreographers, and panelists from within the competitive collegiate circuit, as well as the professional (dance) industry. In doing so, DDCON will become a platform that not only helps dancers cultivate new strengths, but also showcases existing talent amongst our community. To escape the stress of competition weekends and increase opportunities for dancers to meet other dancers with similar interests, DDCON will be a collaborative environment dedicated to artistic and professional growth. 

The 2nd annual DDCON will be held in Chicago, Illinois from Friday, July 21st to Sunday, July 23rd.

Our goal this year is to continue creating positive vibes and a strong sense of community by uniting everyone through their passion for dance and South Asian culture. We plan on hosting an even bigger and better convention than last year, and we welcome everyone warm heartedly to join us! We want to bring you the opportunity to step out of your comfort zones, experience different genres of dance, and make new friends across the nation.

Following in the footsteps of DDCON 2016, Convention this year will feature numerous dance workshops, panels, and mixers hosted by choreographers, dancers, and DJs from across the United States and Canada. Be ready to learn some new moves, reunite with old friends, and get excited for some new surprises!
