Description

As you may know from local news outlets, Phoenix Public Library has been extremely responsive in this difficult time. The Library staff have been able to reimagine several of our critical community resources.

With schools closed, we know families struggled to find engaging and appropriate content for their children. We are now offering many of our critical early literacy programs including Storytime and Kindergarten Bootcamp online – live, recorded, in English and Spanish.

When the building closed, College Depot was immediately able to offer their one-on-one services and guidance remotely through online and phone appointments. Our goal during this difficult time is to ensure that we can help students overcome whatever obstacles they face during these uncertain times. We have been providing immediate direct assistance to help economically vulnerable students overcome barriers including transportation, application fees, program supplies, technology (laptops, tablets), books, and gap-filling scholarships.

The Phoenix Public Library Foundation remains committed to inspiring early learners, enriching lives, and growing the economy.

Funds raised through the virtual event will support the programs I mentioned above.
