The Arc Montgomery County's DSP (Direct Support Professional) Week recognizes the crucial work of Direct Support Professionals who support people with disabilities. During DSP Week, The Arc Montgomery County focuses on raising awareness about the important role DSPs play in the Montgomery County, Maryland community.

For DSP Week 2024, the dates are September 8-14, 2024.

Here's a detailed overview of the week:

Awareness Campaign: Throughout DSP Week, The Arc Montgomery County conducts an awareness campaign to highlight the contributions of DSPs. This includes sharing stories, testimonials, and achievements of DSPs and people with intellectual and developmental disabilities on social media, the organization's website, and through email newsletters to the 1,000s of subscribers of The Arc Montgomery County's emails. 

Celebration Event: The organization hosts a party to honor DSPs. The party includes people with IDD, their families, donors, community leaders, local businesses, and other stakeholders in a picnic-style setting. Donors are recognzied in event invitation, social media, and event emails.

Raffle & Gifts: Attendees can participate in a raffle with proceeds benefitting The Arc Montgomery County. All DSPs also receive a $50 gift card and a token of appreciation gift. Donors are mentioned by name and on email and social media communications.
