Discovery Charter School is a public, tuition free school for grades K-8. Since opening its doors in the Fall of 2010, Discovery has provided a place-based, result-oriented educational point in Northwest Indiana. We have increased our enrollment from
just under 300 to 560 today.
The Discovery Charter School Board along with our Parent Advisory Council is
planning our annual Discover Our World fundraiser on Friday, March 3, 2023. This
event draws over 225 residents and community leaders. We have an exciting evening
of entertainment planned for all who attend.
Over the past twelve years, funds have been raised to purchase and install a playground, maintain the latest technology for Discovery’s classrooms, provide additional land for Discovery’s school campus and contributed to a new building expansion
completed in the fall of 2016—which included a gymnasium and additional classrooms. Most recently, proceeds from this event completed our barn remediation,
providing additional space for our students which continues to support our environmental, place based education. It also has allowed additional room for our extra curricular clubs/athletics to meet.
As we grow we are constantly monitoring our campus space and planning for expansion. This is only made possible through the generous support of our families and
community. As a charter school we do not benefit from the same tax dollars as our
traditional school neighbors. Please help us reach our financial goals for our event
by contributing a silent auction item by way of gift certificates, services, and/or merchandise. Your donation would be tax deductible, and it would help our students
achieve their goals and greatly enhance their educational experience.
