Description

The 40th Annual Dream Gala event includes a robust silent auction, car raffle, live auction, and additional activities that entertain and raise needed funds for the College.

With over $1.22 million dollars in scholarships awarded last year, the Foundation for Seminole State College aims to provide students – who may not otherwise have the opportunity to attend college – the assistance to acquire the education they deserve.  In 2022, 1,581 students received scholarship from both non-endowed and endowed accounts. With an average annual award of over $500, scholarships leave a lasting legacy for both the generous donor and scholarship recipient.

By assisting Seminole State College through program support and scholarships, the Foundation and our generous community of donors can truly make a difference on the students and in our community.  In a recent Revealing Institutional Strengths and Challenges (RISC) survey produced by Percontor, the top two challenges that community college students say impede their academic success are work (34%) and paying expenses (34%).  Two of the Foundation’s many efforts supported by funds raised at the Dream Gala Event focus specifically on helping students cross this barrier and achieve graduation. The One More Class initiative looks for those students that need the extra push to succeed.   Understanding that many students are already juggling full class schedules, multiple jobs, and other responsibilities, the Impact Tomorrow – Student Emergency Assistance Fund aims to help these students overcome their temporary obstacles. Providing scholarship to students gives them access to job opportunities and additional support is given for that that need support with additional emergency bills and food insecurities.

By supporting the Foundation for Seminole State College, you can change lives and help students go far.
