Description

Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation, Inc. is pleased to invite you to our inaugural fundraising Gala, Dreams in Action: A Night of African-Inspired Elegance, held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum. Our gala seeks to not only raise funds to sustain our current and future initiatives, but we also want to bring together and celebrate Asase Yaa’s stakeholders.

Asase Yaa is celebrating over 20 years of performing arts programming in New York through our portfolio of programs, including our School of the Arts (which encompasses our Outreach/Arts-In-Education Program, summer camp and dance school), and the award-winning Asase Yaa African American Dance Theatre. In over two decades, we have created over 10 original theatrical productions, and engaged thousands of audience members, students, families, and community members with high-caliber performance and instruction that centers African and African Diasporic history and arts. We seek to sustain and grow our reach to include engaging more youth in our arts training programming on scholarship, provide more opportunities to engage our community with workshops and performance, and to secure a home space for our programs.

We believe that Dreams in Action: A Night of African-Inspired Elegance also celebrates your commitment to arts and cultural organizations working with youth and families in underserved communities, which is aligned with our organization’s mission.  Our gala will be an excellent occasion to meet community members who reside, work and champion in your district and are friends and supporters of Asase Yaa Cultural Arts Foundation.
