Earth Day Eco Fest 2020
Carnival/Festival for Ventura Charter SchoolApr 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM
The Ventura Charter School of Arts and Global Education, in cooperation with the City of Ventura, will be hosting the Ventura Earth Day Eco Fest. This family-fun community celebration and green expo will be held on Saturday, April 25th. This year’s event marks Earth Day’s celebration of its 50th year! The Earth Day Network selects an environmental priority to focus on annually to create heightened awareness and engage the global public. The enormous challenges – and vast opportunities - of ‘acting on climate change’ have distinguished this issue as the most pressing topic for this year’s momentous anniversary. As an active participant in the Earth Day Network, Ventura Earth Day Eco Fest 2020 aims to educate our community on ways they can make impactful changes in their everyday lives.
Our event has been a great success - and the County’s largest event of its’ kind - for over a decade. Held downtown in Plaza Park, the central location brings a lot of foot traffic, both from local and weekend visitors, and we are anticipating attendance by over 6,000 people this year. While we are already well-established, we feel it important to mention that we are promoting more widely and on additional platforms this year, and we are confident that this year will be our best yet!
Money raised from this April’s event will be used to support our Ventura Charter School’s mission to provide progressive, high-quality, student-centered education. Ventura Charter School is a tuition-free, non-profit public school serving 433 students from Kindergarten to eighth grade. Vital pieces of this education, like our Music & Art programs, educational field trips, elective classes for middle school students, as well as the school play and classroom supplies, exist primarily through our fundraising efforts.
