Description

Jack and Jill of America, Inc., founded in 1938, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing leadership development opportunities to African American children and teens.  Composed of more than 11,000 mother-members who represent more than 50,000 family members across the country, our mother-members are active through each of 262 local chapters within the organization’s seven regions.

Through events scheduled in 2023-2024, the Eastern Region of Jack and Jill of America provides leadership development, academic enhancement, professional expansion, parent enrichment and social networking opportunities for over 3,000 mother members who represent more than 11,000 family members. These events, thereby, provide unparalleled opportunities for corporations and business leaders to help shape the development of young African American children and to also showcase their brand and services to our extensive Jack and Jill community.

This upcoming October, we will host our Northern Cluster Area Work Day in Windsor, CT where we will host mother members, teens and middle school aged students from Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York for a two day educational and experiential conference. We are writing specifically on behalf of the members who will be in attendance from the Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, Rochester chapters based in New York.

Donations would be part of our fundraiser raffle to benefit the Brookview House in Boston, MA. Brookview House is a Black and Latinx women-led organization that works for justice, equity, and systemic change for mothers and children experiencing and at risk of homelessness (Brookviewhouse.org) . One third of our financial donation will benefit the Jack and Jill foundation gap fund which provides financial assistance to college seniors at risk of graduation due to financial hardship.
