Description

Elastic Arts is a nonprofit music, performance, and visual art space in Logan Square/Avondale, fostering an artistic community by offering concerts, exhibitions, and multi-arts events virtually every night of the week. Elastic Arts exists to make space for all artists to create, but especially ones who are not welcome elsewhere because the content of their work is experimental, unorthodox, nontraditional, out-of-bounds, or refletive of racial, ethnic, sexual, or potlitical identities that are unwelcome in (or threatening to) dominant cultural institutions.

We're excited to be holding our 6th Annual Benefit on May 18th, 2024, celebrating with our comunity through performances, food, fellowship, and a silent auction of donated items from artists, businesses, and institutions in our Elastic community, our neighboring communities, and citywide that share our values of supporting the arts, curiosity, inquiry, and equity.

This year's Benefit will gather more than 150 guests in a celebration of Elastic Arts' story and a toast to its future, presenting performances that represent the full spectrum of our programming, recognizing multidisciplinary artist Marvin Tate with the Elastic Achievement Award for his service to our creative community, and featuring a special performance by vocalist Yaw Agyeman.  The event will also be streamed on Elastic's Youtube/Twitch channels and website.

As a performing and visual arts space that understands the importance of strong communties, we want to help bolster patronage for our neighbors as well.

Benefits of donating to the silent auction include:

  • Visibility to 150+ in-person guests, plus virtual attendees & bidders
  • Verbal recognition during the event
  • Recognition on Elastic Arts' social media, weekly emails, and other communications
  • Advancing art, artists, and audiences in Chicago in a tangible way
  • Introducing our creative community, and our supporters, to your business/institution
  • Supporting a vibrant local small business ecosystem

The impact of these auction contributions is very significant for Elastic. In fact, with the help of our generous auction participants, last year we exceeded our goal for the second year in a row, allowing us to expand programming and to more equitably support the artists who inspire us all year long.
