Dreams for Darrius Inc., is a nonprofit corporation operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes created to provide access to fundamental resources such as counseling, tutoring, clothing, household supplies, food, and water while providing community and safe havens for youth who have lost a parent or guardian.
Our corporation includes working with schools, foster care centers, and hospitals to raise social consciousness about our cause while holding fundraising events that provide immediate assistance to those suffering emotionally, mentally, and financially from the loss of a parent and/or guardian regardless of their race, ethnicity, or religion.
To maximize our impact on current efforts, we have pledges a commitment to providing the best possible learning opportunities for our youth. We believe every child deserves access to the resources and support they need to succeed academically regardless of their background or financial situation.
To help us achieve this goal, we are throwing an End of the Summer Bash event and fundraising campaign to support various school-related initiatives while having fun doing it. This includes:
- Free food and refeshments, bounce houses for all ages, live music, face painting, and a petting zoo.
The avergae family spends almost $700 on back to school supplies and clothes. We will also be providing:
- 100 free backpacks filled with school supplies including: No. 2 pencils, pens, loose leaf notebook paper, spiral-bound notebooks, composition notebooks, folders, three-ring binders, erasers, rulers, highlighters, calculators, and index cards
- 100 gray, black, and navy bottoms including shorts, skirts, and pants, 100 white polo and button down tops, 100 back belts, 100 navy blue sweaters, 100 navy vests, and blazers.
We are reaching out to dedicated sponsors, alumni, and supporters to ask for your help in making this event successful. Your participation and generosity can make a significant impact on the lives of our children, heloing us to provide them with the best possible head-start to the 2025-2026 school year and prepare for a brighter future.
This is a free event for all ages, but any contribution no matter the size will be greatly appreciated and put to great use. The death of a loved one certainly impacts a child and can cause a series of emotional wounds substained over time. Unfortunately, often in youth, the signs of trauma can be hard to spot, overlooked, or mistaken for depression or even defiance. One event at a time we hope to raise awareness around grief and create positive outlets for our youth. This event will help so many families and children who are suffering with the financial and academic setbacks that the loss of a parent or guardian can cause. Your sponsorship will bring hope during their most difficult time.
