End of Year Teacher Celebration
Other Event Type for The King's AcademyJun 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Educating the next generation requires teachers to be "all in" through the school year. It's 36 weeks of day and evening responsibilities. At a small nonpublic Christian school, their work commitment is magnified because the ability to staff is tuition-driven. The staff at The King’s Academy are rockstars. They carry a teaching load that is unheard of in the public sector but are still equally committed to impacting the lives of students.
This year brought increased pressures and a lot of heartbreak for TKA’s staff. They were dealing with the increased aftermath of COVID that many schools across the country also faced this year. In addition, they experienced the loss of a beloved teacher at the end of March who died after a shockingly brief battle with cancer. In the same week, a former student, who would have graduated this year had she not moved to Virginia over the summer, was killed in a car accident. In that very week’s span, a longtime volunteer and staff member’s mother also died after her battle with cancer.
TKA’s community has been a huge support and to finish off the year, a group of parents would like to host an End of Year Celebration for staff that would include raffle prizes. We are looking for any donations that would treat our staff to some rest, relaxation or fun times as they recharge this summer.
Thank you for considering supporting our staff!
