Empowered Parents in Community (EPiC) is hosting a silent auction and fundraiser to benefit its support of ECE to Pre-K-12 Black students and their families in pursuit of high-quality education and equitable resources. Bidding for the auction will begin virtually on October 28, 2022, and end on November 4, 2022, during a cocktail hour gathering with food, music, and fellowship at Melanated Wine (promoted as a secret location) in Durham, NC. We expect 80-100 people to attend the event and even more to participate in the online auction.

EPiC is a 501c3 nonprofit based in North Carolina that seeks to disrupt and dismantle systemic racial inequities and rebuild a better system. We empower parents/guardians of Black children to advocate for high-quality educational opportunities and create safe spaces for them to address mental health challenges. Moreover, we collaborate with other community organizations to provide resources and tools that help parents and educators create better schools. We began in one elementary school and have grown to serve ECE to 12th-grade families throughout Durham in just a few years. 

As we expand outside of Durham to other counties in North Carolina, we need the fuel to reach more students and their families. This fundraiser will be a key force in helping us serve more people.

We invite you to support us in raising $30,000 at this event by becoming a sponsor and/or contributing an item as an in-kind donation to the auction. By contributing an item for auction such as: overnight hotel packages, gift cards to stores or restaurants, tickets to sporting events, platters of hors d’oeuvre or desserts, gift baskets, professional services (ex. consulting, personal chef), and more, we will feature your name and logo on our website, social media, email marketing, and other digital materials. We will also tag your company on our social media and include any special images or text you would like to provide. As a recognized sponsor, (Ruby: $250, Emerald: $500, Gold: $750, Platinum: $1,000, Black Diamond: $2,500) you will receive all of the benefits mentioned above plus, depending on the level, potentially tickets to the event, reserved bar tables, and more.
