Description

Keeping Pace with Multiple Miracles (KPMM) was founded in 1996 by two young moms of triplets struggling to manage the demands of parenting and the isolation it creates. Fast-forward almost 25 years and we have grown into a non-profit organization that offers affordable childcare items, subsidized educational classes, support meetings, and a free food/diaper pantry to hundreds in need. More amazingly, we have evolved into the nucleus of a network of over 9,300 local families who work collaboratively to support one another.

In the wake of everything that has happened in the past year, parents and children need social and emotional support more than ever. One of the best ways we can help the members of our community build and maintain relationships is by simply providing a safe meeting place and structured activities that can be done safety together.

While KPMM cannot yet resume our family-centered events programming, which offered multiple public events, hosting around 300 people each, we have continued to offer micro support meetings and educational classes. While not the 20+ person attendance we once averaged pre-Covid, we have been able to host smaller gatherings of 8-10 people, and have adapted to accommodate online participation.  Even with the limitations of 2020, the annual attendance for gatherings totaled over 60 different families from 25+ towns throughout the state. These numbers are expected to skyrocket over the coming year.  However, the building we leased did not have the space needed to meet the growing needs of our community - this was true even before government regulations were put in place.

So in February, KPMM signed a lease to take on an additional 1,500 square feet. The space has been transformed into “The Nest”- a comfy and safe respite located in a closed section of our resale storefront. The new layout will allow for 25+ people to safety attend each event. In the evenings, the space will be used to host support meetings for new and experienced parents, breastfeeding mothers, and a fledgling group focused on dads of multiples - a vulnerable community in itself often overlooked. During the day, the gathering space will double as an area for educational and social classes for the whole family.  We are off to a strong start and have more than seven classes focused on physical and mental health already being coordinated, including: new parents “boot camp,” mindfulness, post partum yoga, kids’ yoga, music together, story-time, “mommy and me,” and art —at a cost of $1,000 per month.

In order to purchase the materials and technology needed to move forward with our expansion, and continue to offer subsidized classes to the community, we need the help of family centered organizations that see that value in the work we do.

In addition to knowing that you are helping thousands of local families, as a way show our appreciation, we would also like to offer the opportunity to display your company’s/foundation’s logo in “The Nest,” as well as in our consignment storefront next to our award plaques for “Best Children’s Clothing Store” and “Best Consignment Store” (from the 2020 Best of the Best Community Choice Awards, South Shore). Grant awards will also be announced on both the KeepingPace.org website and on our Facebook groups (which boast hundreds of thousands of viewings each annually).
