Each year, Copper Canyon Elementary School hosts S.T.A.R.S. - Students and Teachers Achieving Resources Simply - our biggest fundraiser of the year. Instead of asking our families to sell cookie dough, wrapping paper, etc. or send out emails and text blasts to family and friends for "a-thons", we simply ask that they give a monetary donation. We provide the amount of money we spent the previous year per child and ask our families to cover some or all of that amount. For example, we spent approximately $120 per student during the 2022-2023 school year. In the fall, we will ask families to donate $60 per child to help mitigate the costs of all the programs we would like to continue to provide including educational field trips, in-class science experiences in conjunction with the AZ Science Center, teacher reimbursement, community building events like Movie Nights and Bingo, and much more! We also encourage our families to apply for company matches and look for community sponsors that want to invest in these children's entire educational experience.
