The mission of Family Community Services of Somerset County is to provide affordable and effective mental health and substance abuse services.  We do this by offering affordable rates based on a sliding scale and we take pride in serving everyone in our community without regard for ability to pay.  Our agency is licensed by the State of NJ for both Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder services.  This also includes Co-Occurring Disorders.  The agency was established in 1960 as a result of the merging of 2 older agencies - The Community Service Society of Bound Brook, founded in 1908 as the Welfare Society, and Family Counseling Service of Somerset Hills, established in 1940.  Over the years, our specific services changed as the needs of our community changed.  Today FCSSC offers mental health, addictions, and other community-based services to those who live and work in Somerset County and other surroudning communities.  We specialize in providing support, guidance, and counseling to individulas and families in need.  We employ a team of qualified professionals who provide confidential clinical services to enhance the quality of life for our clients.  All of our Clinicians are licensed and certified and our programs are licensed by the State if NJ.  The agency works cooperatively with the various Somerset County School Systems, with Somerset Coutny Probation and Court, with DCP&P and with a number of other community organizations including Middle EArth, Somerset County Board of Social Services, Somerset Community ACtion Program, Richard Hall Community Mental Health Program, and Somerset Treatment Services.  Agency staff participate in a number of local commissions such as the Somerset County Human Services Advisory Council (HSAC), Somserset county Professional Advisory Commission (PAC), and the Somerset County Youth Services Commission (YSC) as well as several subcommittees.  The Comedy Night is FCSSC largest fund raiser.
