To Whom it May Concern;

 

My name is Jojie Borman and I am the Leadership Assistant in charge of Anaheim Succeeds! at Olive Street Elementary in the Anaheim Elementary School District. This is an expanded learning opportunity that takes place before and after school for our students and I am excited to see and be a part of this program’s growth and improvement. 

 

Anaheim Succeeds! supports the families of our community by providing a before and after school program where their child(ren) will be safe and supported in a nine hour school day. The essential standards of our program are; student voice and leadership, social and emotional learning, academic support, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math). It is our goal to provide enrichment activities for our students that are, “pupil-centered, results driven, include community partners, and complement, but do not replicate the learning activities in the regular school day/year.”

 

In an effort to reinforce the essential standards, we want to recognize students’ efforts through a monthly raffle drawing and individual recognition.  We will also add family events such as an ice cream social, movie night, and BINGO to our program as well. We would love to have highly desirable and motivating prizes for our families to choose from and this is where your partnership and support comes in. We would love a donation of gift cards to use for refreshments, certificates, and/or merchandise that we can include in our raffles.  These donations would be used toward our efforts in recognizing as many students and families as possible throughout the school year. Our first raffle will be held at the end of August and family nights will be determined once the school year begins.
