FCS will be hosting its Spring Auction on May 13, 2023 to raise money for its Blackburn Financial Aid Fund, and we’re hoping local businesses like yours will help us reach our fundraising goals. Participating in our Spring Auction will also provide local businesses the opportunity to advertise your support and services and connect with hundreds of prospective and current FCS families who will be in attendance. And to make the deal even sweeter–contributions to the Spring Auction are tax-deductible!

There are three ways to participate in the auction:

Donate goods or services;  
Donate a gift certificate toward purchases at your business; and/or
Become a sponsor and we will  include your business logo on the Auction website, and you will receive tickets to attend the Auction! Additional details on sponsorship can be found on the Auction website.

Why Support the FCS Auction?

Charitable giving is a cornerstone of FCS. Gifts from parents, staff, alumni families and local businesses have helped our community grow over the last 35 years, and allow us to fulfill our mission to nurture lifelong learners, courageous risk-takers, and joyous peacemakers. Auction proceeds help us enroll students who could not otherwise afford to attend FCS. Nearly 40% of our 248 students receive financial aid. 

Every donor business will be featured in the online Auction Catalog and prominent signage at the Auction to be held on May 13th, 2023.

About FCS

Friends Community School is an independent K-8 th grade school where word of mouth about goods and services travels quickly. We emphasize community – among our families, and within the larger community of the Washington, DC area. The school draws students from all over the area, including College Park, Hyattsville, Greenbelt, Silver Spring, Takoma Park, Bowie, Laurel, Columbia and Capitol Hill. Our families are active and engaged throughout the region.
