Description
Gage Elementary Spanish Immersion is hosting its Fourth Annual Silent Auction.
Our students are native English-speaking children whose families have opted to place their students in a 100% Spanish Immersion program. These students are bright, eager learners who are expected to reach all the grade level Common Core standards they would have to meet in a regular English class. Our community supports building bi-literate, global citizens, and these students' Spanish proficiency and cultural awareness demonstrate the value of immersion programs.
We need native-speaking interns to work with them as they learn Spanish and cultural traditions of Latin American countries and Spain. The interns work in both small group and whole class settings.
Not only do the interns provide invaluable assistance for the students as they learn Spanish and become biliterate; the students also learn to love countries they may one day visit. Ultimately, this cultural awareness leads students to think critically about global issues.
