Mundo Verde Padres is the parent association of Mundo Verde Cook Campus Public Charter School in Shaw/Truxton Circle in Washington DC. It has a sustainability-focused, Spanish bilingual expeditionary curriculum. We are a 501(c)(3) registered in DC . Mundo Verde has over 550 kids at our PreK through 5th grade of school. Over 10% of our kids are at risk. We have a diverse group of students with 36% Hispanic, 23% Black/African-American and 11% Multiracial. Many of our families live in Truxton, Bloomingdale, Shaw and the Hill, but we are also spread out across all 8 wards.

As the parent association, we believe and invest in creating a vibrant community around the school. We engage with local neighborhood groups, businesses and promote neighborhood clean up, safety walks and other efforts that create an even better neighborhood. Every year, we have a fundraiser to send the 5th grade class to Puerto Rico to immerse themselves in a Spanish language and environment. Our goal is $25,000, and we rely on members of our local DC community, especially businesses.
