On June 14, 2023, our Don José de Ortega chapter of the DAR will hold our 52nd annual Flag Day Luncheon fundraiser, featuring a silent auction and raffles.  We hope you will help make it a success by donating a gift certificate or item for this event.

As a strictly volunteer organization, all funds raised and donated go to help our many charitable activities and projects, including providing thousands of dollars each year of food, clothing and toiletries to our local homeless veterans; hundreds of dollars of books, Constitution Week teaching materials and history lesson plans to schools; over $1000 to support volunteer fire departments in CA; more than $2,000 in college scholarships; historical site preservation; over $1000 for conservation projects; and other community support.  Most of the funds spent on these projects was raised at this event last June, our only fundraiser each year.  In addition, our members raise other monies for conservation organizations (including replanting our local burn areas), raise Guide Dogs for the blind, and teach literacy to both children and adults.

All of our donors get listed in our event program and included in our annual membership directory to recognize their generous support.  Can we count of your help in our fundraising effort?
