All proceeds will go the French Chef Exchange scholarship program.  Since 1986, DMACC has hosted two French chefs every year in January.  The chefs come from the region of St. Etienne, Des Moines' French Sister City.  These guest chefs demonstrate classical French cuisine and techniques to all of the culinary students during a two week stay each January.  After graduation in May, eight select students have the opportunity to visit France for twelve days with their instructors, and then spend an additional two weeks in the St. Etienne region, participating in individual interships with chefs in the area.  Many of these students return to central Iowa which benefits the entire community.
