Flood Repair Fundraiser
Online Auction for TLL Temple Memorial Library & ArchivesMay 21, 2024 10:00 AM to Jun 30, 2024 6:00 PM
On Wednesday, April 10, we opened to find that storms in the area had caused rain to backup through sewage lines and flood our library. Our offices, public restrooms, foyer, and circulation desk were all damaged, and unfortunately our insurance policy is covering nothing.
The library facility is closed to the public while we clean out damaged items, but staff is providing curbside services as possible to continue to meet the needs of the community.
We need your help to get the library repaired and ready to serve the public again!
We are seeking items for raffles and online auctions to help raise funds to cover costs for repair and replacement of items that were damaged, including replacing flooring and drywall, repairing water damaged furniture, and cleanup costs. We anticipate that this full process will take several weeks, but are committed to reopening to the public as soon as possible.
If your company or organization could make a donation in support of our efforts, we’d appreciate it greatly! Our library serves almost 20,000 people per year in a community with fewer than 5,000 total citizens, and like other rural libraries, fills many gaps in service for our community. We hope to be reopened and fully functional as soon as possible, and will be providing our annual Summer Reading Programs as planned.
