Description

After a two-year pandemic break, we are proud to announce that the Friends of Franklin Fine Arts CPS school is bringing back the Annual Spring Fundraiser! This year, we celebrate “The Magic Behind the Curtains” on May 13th.  In the past, we have reached out to you for an in-kind donation, and we are reaching out again to find out if it is something you have space to give this year.

Money raised from our auction has funded a variety of needs throughout the school, especially the needs of our arts programs.  Friends of Franklin has regularly funded the teacher’s aides in the primary grades, every Promethean Board throughout the school, the lighting system for the stage productions, as well as the stage itself. We continue to sponsor the events for Field Day as well as graduation celebrations for 8th grade. Dry cleaning for costumes, art supplies, buses for field trips, the list goes on. We FUND the magic behind the curtains.

While we have been able to meet the needs of our magnet school over the last two years, it is time to replenish our reserves. Our students come from all over the city, and we want to make sure the school has everything it needs.  While these goals are not inexpensive, the impact upon the educational experience for our students is great.  Franklin’s priority is to provide our diverse population exposure to dance, piano, drama, music, and visual arts. This is more than just our mission; it is about building our children’s future prospects and raising both outstanding students and citizens.
