The Citrus County Education Foundation will be having their 5th annual Foundation Fest. Community leaders will be servers for the night, all competing to raise the most tips. The event will also include a Battle of the Band Teachers, a silent auction, and food for purchase. All tips during the event will be donated to CCEF, as well as proceeds from the silent auction and a portion of the food sales. Funds raised will go towards CCEF programs supporting our public schools. Created in 1988, CCEF is the only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose sole mission is to support the public, Pre-K through 12th grade, education in Citrus County. CCEF programs include: classroom mini-grants for all grade levels; scholarships for aspiring teachers and high school seniors; classroom technology enhancements; recognitionprograms for students, teachers, and staff; support for science fairs, math field days abd student art festivals; and investment in numerous programs supporting our students, including AVID, STEM based summer camps and after-school-programs, student health and leadership development opportunities, and First Library- CCEF's literacy initiative supporting the county's Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. Launching this year, Supplies 4 Success, providing free classroom supplies for our teachers.
