Each Friday of this Summer we are trying to schedule participant activities that center around community engagement. 

We provide long-term community care and support through our non-profit organization for individuals recovering from substance use disorders. As our recovery community is growing at a rapid rate, we have found an increasing need to show our participants that there are positive ways to be involved with the community. It is important for them to learn that their positive actions can help build towards a better and safer community. We have been partnering with businesses to find activities for our participants to engage in drug/alcohol-free fun! This is a reoccuring event throughout the Summer of 2022.

Some of our participants only have negative memories associated with things like the river, amusement parks, etc. So being able to work on replacing those bad life experiences, with new ones, is a huge step in their personal development and relathionship building. These activities include anything involving working with their mind, body, and spirit in the community.

Ex. water sports, healthy eating/living, exercise/active movement, volunteering to give back, gardening, etc.
