Friends of St. Nick
Gala/Party for Friends of St. Nick Foundation Inc.Dec 14, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM
On December 14, The Friends of St. Nick will host the 27th Annual Friends of St. Nick Charity Luncheon. Each year we host this luncheon to honor outstanding members of our community with the goal of raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute; a world leader in adult and pediatric cancer treatment and research.
We are pleased to announce our 2018 St. Nick People of the Year: Gillooly Funeral Home. The Gillooly Funeral Home has been a fixture in the town of Norwood for 126 years. Founded in 1892 by John Gillooly and later joined by his son William, they operated the funeral home for many years helping families through very difficult times with compassionate, professional and personal service. That service and compassion continued through ownership changes and remains the very same today with Frederick Wobrock as General Manager under the ownership of Dignity Memorial.
Aside from providing their funeral and memorial services to the Norwood community and beyond, the Gillooly staff is very involved in charity and volunteerism in the Town. They can be found at events like Norwood Day or making donations to Norwood organizations, including but not limited to, the Norwood Circle of Hope Foundation, Norwood High School Athletic Hall of Fame, and The Norwood Scholarship Foundation. It is for these reasons and many more that, The Friends of St. Nick are honored to name Gillooly Funeral Home our 2018 People of the Year.
In our 27-year history, we have raised over a half million for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute through our raffle, silent auction and luncheon. Donors, such as you, are critical to our continued success. This year is no different. We would be grateful if you were able to donate to this year’s event by offering a raffle prize, silent/live auction item or cash donation.
If you are able to contribute, we would be honored. If you are unable to donate we certainly appreciate your consideration in taking time to read this letter. Please send your donation(s) to the address below or call us at 781-762-0042, we are happy to pick them up too.
