Fruit of our Roots:Celebrating Culture and Community
Gala/Party for KandeliaApr 23, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Our event is called Fruit of our Roots: Celebrating Culture and Community. For over 40 years, Kandelia has created and nourished our roots in the Seattle immigrant and refugee community. Today, through our resilience and perseverance, we continue our work while also celebrating our successes. This event is meant to be a celebration of our work and successes, and a fundraiser to help sustain and grow our programs. At the event, we'll talk about our programs and the community we work with and show a video about some of our classes and the students who participate in them. We hope this will enable our supporters to see the value of their contributions and inspire them to continue to support Kandelia and our work. We expect 200 people to attend our event. The space is a well ventilated, indoor/outdoor space that allows us to gather safely. Our goal is to raise $93,000 through ticket sales, raffle items, sponsorships, and general donations. Tickets to our event include two drink tickets and access to bite sized foods from five local, POC-owned and run restaurants - allowing guests to sample foods from around the world. A true celebration, we will have music, a photobooth, and interactive activities, all with floral, plant and fruit inspired decor. |
