Description

My name is Christine Esposito and I am a Cancer Survivor! I am also the coordinator for the 6th Annual Camp Bravehearts Pocono Basket Raffle to be held June 11, 2022 at the American Legion Evans-Blitz Post 22 in Canadensis PA. This year’s theme will be “Fun in the Sun”! Our event will be filled with friends and community supporters and will include a basket raffle, food and Live Music!

While this past year has continued to present challenges and changes in our lives, cancer has not stopped. The pandemic has impacted each of us in different ways with one commonality, people miss people. Camp Bravehearts has not held any of the regularly scheduled retreats for women dealing with cancer Since our 2019 season, however instead, Bravehearts found other ways to keep connected and provide necessary support and encouragement to other cancer patients, survivors, and thrivers as new and returning campers are looking forward to our first in person camp to be held in May of 2022

Camp Bravehearts, a non-profit organization (EIN#23-3066704), was founded as a wellness and educational weekend retreat program for women dealing with all types of cancer. Since 2001, over 3000 cancer patients and survivors have attended programs. Camp Bravehearts’ mission is to enable women dealing with a cancer diagnosis the opportunity to share life experiences. Educational, exercise, craft and wellness activities, outdoor challenges and social functions provide campers the opportunity to learn new skills, increase self-esteem and address risks and fears that many women face during and after cancer treatment.

You may visit our website at www.braveheartscamp.org to hear from some of our campers and learn more about the programs offered by Camp Bravehearts. Please consider helping Camp Bravehearts continue its mission of bringing joy, inspirations, support and friendship to cancer patients and survivors.
