Women of the Dream core programs are complemented by socially and culturally relevant activities.  This includes fun activities for our girls, which is vital to their mental and social well-being.  The girls in our programs are all from Camden, NJ.  Camden is the poorest city in the state and among the poorest in the country.  Poverty creates depressions, anxiety, feelings of hopelessness, and low self-esteem.  Many of our girls appear as if they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders. We work hard to counter these feelings not only through our programs but through exposure to fun activities where they can just be kids and have fun.  In the absence of organizations like Women of the Dream, our girls would not be able to participate in these types of activities. The cost is prohibitive.  They rely on organizations like Women of the Dream to make it happen for them. 

Great Adventure (Jackson NJ) is one of the places the girls love to go (what kid doesn't?)! Last Halloween, in the midst of COVID, we took close to 20 girls to Six Flags Great Adventure.  Just watching them have fun and enjoy the Halloween festivities brought joy to our hearts.  We take the girls to Six Flags quite often and would like to take a group to Six Flags on October 30th.  This past summer we actually took the girls to Six Flags Bowie, MD.  This was their second trip to Bowie, MD.  Getting the girls out of Camden and exposing them to an environment outside of NJ is important as well. 

Women of the Dream is a small nonprofit organization. We have a small budget.  We do not charge our girls for ANYTHING. We pay for expenses through grants and donations.  We would like to take about 20 girls to Great Adventure on October 30 but the cost for that many girls would be a huge chunk out of our budget.  We are seeking donations.
