According to the CMHA (Canadian Mental Health Association) Ontario in 2023, Approximately 1 in 5 children and youth in Ontario have a mental health challenge. About 70% of mental health challenges have their onset in childhood or youth. That's why early identification and intervention are so critical and can lead to improved achievement in school and better health outcomes in life.

At Halton Hills Christian School, we believe that every child matters and has the right to flourish in our school community. We recognize that in order for students to thrive, we need to go beyond nurturing academic needs by prioritizing social-emotional needs as well.

In 2022, HHCS welcomed a new member to the team, a Social Worker, whose program strives to promote and focus on early intervention and prevention by facilitating social-emotional skills for all students. This student wellness program supports 1 in 6 students at HHCS, through individual and/or small group coaching, whole-school learning and instruction, and support to our families and staff through coaching and training so that everyone can work more effectively together. These services are provided at no extra cost to our families. Without additional funding, these programs and resources would not be possible.

We are excited to announce that we are hosting our Annual Fundraising Golf Tournament at Royal Ontario Golf Club on Saturday, June 1st, 2024. This is a major fundraising event for our school community which raised $37,400 last year. Funds raised from this event will support our student wellness program, in addition to supporting Christian Education and student learning at Halton Hills Christian School by providing engaging learning opportunities for all. We truly nurture, equip, teach and challenge our students so they are shaped into the people God has created them to be.

Each year a team of dedicated volunteers reach out to members of the community to secure sponsorships and donations towards our on-site event and online auction (which is open and accessible to EVERYONE, yay!). We are grateful for any support you may be able to contribute. Your sponsorship/donation will be featured on our event website, event program, on-site at the event and word of mouth. Together we can make a difference!
